The Hlubi Mboya Arnold Scholarship powered by SAE Institute and Sunshine Cinema, covers the full tuition fees for SAE’s full-time Higher Certificate in Film Production at our campus in Woodstock, Cape Town.

About the Hlubi Mboya Arnold Scholarship

Hlubi is an award winning film and television actress, social justice and civil rights activist, sponsored athlete and social entrepreneur.  Known for her roles in SABC 3’s soapie Isidingo, SABC 1’s drama series Mfolozi Street and as a celebrity contestant for SABC 2's Strictly Come Dancing, she is also an accomplished business woman and heads up the non-profit Future CEO’s.  She a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Program and a Director at Sunshine Cinema. 

Sunshine Cinema is a solar powered mobile cinema that converts solar energy into social impact. They take compelling and carefully curated content to a diverse array of communities across Southern Africa and beyond.

The team are driven by a strong desire to create communal cinema experiences that act as a catalyst for dialogue, deep listening and ultimately positive social and environmental change. Sunshine Cinema isn’t just a mobile movie theatre. How To Apply

The scholarship is open to all South African citizens and all candidates must hold a Grade 12 certificate. The scholarship is only valid for the July 2018 study intake. Candidates will be responsible for all living and travel expenses should they come from outside of Cape Town.

In order to apply for the scholarship, candidates must complete the application form, we will then send you a follow up e-mail detailing the next steps to complete your application. Sunshine Cinema will make the final decision on who the successful candidate will be.
