In a unique offering the Dubai International Film Festival has invited SAE Dubai students to participate at a level of access previously reserved for professional film production and advertising companies. SAE Dubai film students will provide film coverage of the festival, participate in internships in production, liaison, and social media, and screen their films in a dedicated SAE section of the Cinitech screenings.

On the ground, a team of 20 of the best Film and Audio department students will rove throughout the event to provide content for the Dubai International Film Festival’s YouTube channel. This coverage is being coordinated by Senior Lecturer in Film, Mr. Yazan Al-Ghazzawi who stated “The festival is an amazing opportunity for our students to be exposed to the best the regional and international film industry has to offer - from red carpets and premieres to workshops and press junkets, it is a hands-on learning experience like no other".

SAE Dubai has had a long relationship with the Dubai International Film Festival. This relationship has grown around a symbiotic effort to grow and improve the recognition of the local film industry. Senior Marketing Executive at Dubai International Film Festival Mr. Mohammad Azzam told us "We're delighted to be collaborating with SAE Dubai once again, and we love seeing how keen and excited the students are to cover our events - in spite of the long hours! We hope to be seeing their own films at the festival soon".

The Course Coordinator for the Film Department at SAE Dubai, Mrs. Celine Abiad Beader, noted on this that it is “a great opportunity for the students to meet industry representatives and stars. Furthermore the experience of being press in the festival will be thrilling”.
