With a focus on Funding to fruition, Kapoor discussed how to raise funds and leverage finance in the creative media industry.

Having worked on a number of films, Kapoor strongly believes in the importance of telling authentic stories with strong cinematic elements across all documentary films.

ON.DXB supports the development of the film, game, video and music industries. Launched by Dubai Media City in cooperation with Dubai Film and TV Commission, ON.DXB reflects Dubai’s ambitious strategy to develop the media & entertainment industry and its talent.

Being held at Dubai Studio City, the three-day agenda (21-23 November 2019) of ON.DXB will feature a host of engaging talent-led sessions and concerts, keynote talks, live pitches, industry workshops and panel discussions led by international and local celebrities, experts and brands.

An initiative of Dubai Media City, and in cooperation with the Dubai Film and TV Commission, the new festival aims to stimulate business development and partnership building within the wider industry ecosystem and enhance Dubai’s status as a global and regional capital for major companies and talent.

At the event, Kapoor’s award-winning documentary film, God Children will be screened. It is scheduled to be aired on November, 21st at 4pm followed by a Q&A session with Reshel. This is the third film produced by Reshel Kapoor that gives a voice to those who need it the most. God Children was shot in India and funded by Kish Pagarani of Aum Media. It boldly chronicles the life of two boys who were born with genetic and physical problems. Kapoor lets viewers enter their precarious worlds, mirrored in superstition, physical disabilities/difficulties and grinding poverty.

ON.DXB will take place in two specially created zones: the Industry Arena and Festival Square. The indoor Industry Arena features three separate stages for industry-specific topics, panels and debates by regional and industry speakers. Additionally, the stages will be featuring tech, new releases and pitch sessions. The Industry Arena will also feature a designated space for meet-up opportunities for all sectors and individuals at all stages of their career.

The outdoor Festival Square includes a stage for international and regional musical performances and more, and a dedicated film theatre for exclusive releases, regional and indie screenings, as well as unique indoor space for the content creator community, which will feature workshops from brands including Anghami, Facebook, Instagram and In5, as well as showcase indie gaming and video content.
